Content monitoring automatically discovers new content from your configured sources, creating opportunities for you to repurpose or respond to.
Overview
The monitoring system checks your configured sources to find:
- New blog posts from competitor websites
- New YouTube videos from channels you follow
- New or viral TikTok videos from profiles you track
Types of Monitoring
1. Competitor Blog Monitoring
Track what your competitors are publishing and what’s resonating with their audience.
2. YouTube Channel Monitoring
Perfect for repurposing your own videos or tracking competitor channels.
3. TikTok Profile Monitoring
Stay on top of short-form video trends in your industry.
Setting Up Monitoring Rules
Each monitoring rule tracks a specific source:
Rule Configuration
Basic Settings:
- Name: Descriptive name for the rule
- Type: Blog, YouTube Channel, or TikTok Profile
- Source: URL, channel ID, or profile handle
- Active: Toggle to enable/disable
Opportunity Creation
When monitoring finds content, it creates opportunities:
Opportunity Types
- New Content - Fresh posts or videos from your sources
- Viral Content - Content with exceptional performance metrics
Managing Monitoring Rules
Access monitoring settings from:
- Go to Opportunities page
- Click “Monitoring Rules” button
- View all active rules and their status
Rule Status
Each rule shows:
- Last checked time
- Number of opportunities created
- Active/inactive status
- Manual run button
Best Practices
1. Start with Competitors
Add 2-3 direct competitors’ blogs to understand what content resonates in your industry.
2. Monitor Your Own Channels
Track your YouTube channel to automatically repurpose your videos into written content.
3. Regular Maintenance
- Review rules regularly
- Remove inactive or low-quality sources
- Adjust frequency based on source activity
Troubleshooting
No opportunities appearing?
- Verify the source URL/handle is correct
- Check if the source has published new content
- Ensure the monitoring rule is active
- Try running the rule manually
Duplicate opportunities?
- Reduce monitoring frequency
- Check if multiple rules monitor the same source
